The Children’s Centre is committed to providing a fair and open admission system for day care that offers a competitively priced and good value service. As a provider of registered childcare, we both encourage and actively support eligible parents/carers claiming, and taking up the childcare element of the Working Tax Credit. We will promote the use of Childcare Vouchers.
About the Pre-School
The Pre-School is set within the Children’s Centre and is a childcare provider for 2 year olds and also wraparound for the 3/4 year olds who already attend Stephen Freeman School Nursery.
CURRICULUM – We will follow the revised Early Years Foundation Stage. All activities develop one or more of the seven areas of learning: 1) Communication and Language, 2) Physical Development, 3) Personal, Social and Emotional, 4) Literacy, 5) Mathematics, 6) Understanding the Word and 7) Expressive Arts and Design.

Admissions – When a parent/carer contacts the Centre enquiring about a place for their child, they will be given all the relevant information they require including details of the Admissions and Fees procedure, and informed of whether there is currently a suitable place available for their child. A minimum of 2 sessions per week is essential to enable children to have some continuity and routine.
TWO YEAR ENTITLEMENT- You may be eligible for funding for up to 15 hours per week. Please ask staff for more details
If a suitable place is available the parent/carer and, where possible, the child will be invited to visit the appropriate session and speak to members of staff. If the parent/carer agrees to abide by all the terms and conditions of admission, including the level of fees and arrangements for payment, they will be asked to complete and sign the Registration Form & the ‘All About Me’ Form to confirm their child’s place.
Once the admission is confirmed, the designated member of staff, will contact the parent/carer concerned to arrange a date for the child’s first session. At this stage, the provisions of the Settling In procedure will be followed.
Pre-School session are Monday-Friday 8.45am-11.45am and 12.15pm 3.15pm TERM TIME ONLY.
